Hello, and thank you for investigating Shelter Island's lodging considerations.  We hope that you will find a good fit at an acceptable rate.  Reservations fill up very early in the spring, so we recommend securing a room as soon as you decide to attend.  The wedding and reception will take place at the Rams Head Inn.  The Inn has only seventeen rooms, but the Island offers a number of other small motels, inns, and bed and breakfasts, all of which are only minutes away from the Rams Head.  Most  establishments in this area have a two night minimum stay. 

While we understand that lodging here is more expensive than most travelers are accustomed to, we have tried to find the most economical rates, which start at $90 per night.  We estimate that rates on the Island average around $150 per night.  Although perhaps hard to believe, Shelter Island offers much more reasonable rates and minimum stays than the surrounding area, and here visitors get to experience the charm of a very small island community.  Many of the options below represent true New England inns - do not expect to find elevators or internet connections here!  Even air conditioning is not a universal amenity, and it is worth asking whether the lodging you have in mind includes a parking permit for the Island's public beaches.  The Dering Harbor Inn and the Pridwin have swimming pools, and the Olde Country Inn is in walking distance to the main public beach.
